unrushed care
From the Olympic sideline to your recovery.
Mallory White is a registered physiotherapist based in Victoria. Over the past decade she has worked at the very top of Canadian sport — serving as lead therapist for Canada's Women's National Soccer Team and travelling with the program to the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games — including Tokyo, where the team captured Canada's first Olympic gold in women's football — as well as the FIFA Women's World Cup.
That world demands fast, precise, evidence-based rehab — reading an injury correctly the first time and building the clearest path back to full performance. Mallory brings exactly that standard to Verve, her private home-based practice, where every appointment is unhurried, one-on-one, and built entirely around your goals.
"Whether you're chasing a podium or just want to move without pain, you deserve care that's precise, personal, and actually gets you there."
- Master of Physical Therapy, UBC

Frequently asked questions
Where are you located?
Verve is a private home-based clinic in the Hatley Park area of Colwood, on the West Shore of Greater Victoria. The exact address and parking details are shared with you when you book, to keep the space private and calm.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is needed to see a physiotherapist in British Columbia. That said, some extended-health plans require one for reimbursement — it's worth checking with your provider.
Do you direct bill to insurance?
Yes — direct billing is available to many extended-health providers, and detailed receipts are always provided for any claims you submit yourself. Let Mallory know your provider when you book and she'll confirm what's covered.
What should I bring or wear?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and that allows access to the area being treated (for example, shorts for a knee assessment). Bring any relevant imaging reports or surgical notes if you have them.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends entirely on your injury and goals — some issues resolve in a few visits, while post-surgical or return-to-sport rehab runs longer. You'll get an honest estimate after your assessment.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment, so the time can be offered to someone else. (Adjust to your preferred policy.)

Sports Injury & Return-to-Sport
Elite-level rehab, all the way back to your sport
The same process Mallory used to keep national-team athletes competing — now for weekend warriors, rec-league players, and competitive athletes across Greater Victoria. The goal isn't just pain-free; it's returning genuinely ready.
The approach
- Accurate diagnosis and early management to settle the injury quickly
- Progressive, criteria-based loading that rebuilds strength and capacity without flaring things up
- Sport-specific rehab that trains the exact movements, speeds, and demands you'll return to
- Objective return-to-sport testing — strength symmetry, single-leg hop tests, movement quality — so you’re cleared on evidence, not guesswork
- Reinjury-prevention and load-management strategies to keep you on the field
Commonly treated
- Ankle sprains and knee ligament injuries
- Hamstring, calf, and groin strains
- Runner's knee, shin splints, and overuse injuries
- Achilles, patellar, and rotator-cuff tendinopathies
- Return to running, jumping, and cutting sports
Detailed receipts provided for extended-health claims; direct billing available to many providers.
Post-Surgical Rehab
Structured recovery, from day one to full function
A protocol-guided plan that takes you from the early days after surgery back to the activities you love — coordinated with your surgeon's guidelines and progressed on milestones, not the calendar.
How it works — phase by phase
- Protect & restore. Control swelling and pain, protect the repair, and safely rebuild range of motion.
- Rebuild strength. Progressive strengthening to restore the muscle and control lost after surgery.
- Restore function. Retrain balance, coordination, and the movements you need for daily life.
- Return to activity. Goal- or sport-specific progression with milestone testing before you're cleared.
Common surgeries
- ACL reconstruction, knee arthroscopy & meniscus repair
- Total knee and total hip replacement
- Rotator-cuff repair and shoulder stabilisation
- Achilles tendon repair
- Fracture recovery and post-immobilisation stiffness
Detailed receipts provided for extended-health claims; direct billing available to many providers.
